Cloudbreaker Alliance Digital PDF Release Date Change

Hello everyone, this is CJ.

We regret that we have to make this decision and sincerely apologize to everyone inconvenienced by this decision. To release a book and system that fulfill all your expectations, we have decided to delay the release of the digital PDF of Cloudbreaker Alliance Core Rulebook.

The new release dates are:

• PDF Beta Sample: February 26, 2024
• PDF Full Release: March 25, 2024
• The release date of the physical product is unchanged. 

The previous release dates were:

• PDF Beta Sample: January 29, 2024
• PDF Full Release: February 26, 2024

The Cloudbreaker Alliance Core Rulebook will be the most important book in the Cloudbreaker Alliance series and it will be used for years to come. We are fully committed to supporting Cloudbreaker Alliance with future campaigns and supplements. So, we want your introduction to the world and system to be done on the best of terms. Our team just needs a bit of extra time to fine-tune the final touches to the book. 

But we have some good news.

On Jan 29, 2024 we can release a Beta Sample of the lore and setting of the world of Cloudbreaker Alliance through Backerkit. We look forward to having you join our world soon.

CBA January Progress Update

Hello everyone! This is the CBA monthly update for the month of January

Here is the list of the news I would like to share with you in dot points:

Progress Report

Art - We have received almost all of our arts and what’s left is being finalized.

What you see below is a True Spiritarm. True Spiritarms and Soularms are weapons that increase in strength as you player character level up. According to the setting’s lore, it is a weapon that’s empowered by the wielder’s spirit. But the wielder needs to be in direct contact with the blade or the part that’s intended to hit the enemy.  This requirement resulted in the design you can see below. The sword has a full tang to allow the wielder to touch the blade on the handle, but skeletonized to balance the center of gravity.

Text - We have received a good chunk of our edited manuscripts and we’re in the process of laying out the text into our book. We are planning to release the Beta PDF in January 29, 2024. The Official PDF release is scheduled to be released on February 26, 2024. But depending on the feedback we receive from the Beta PDF, we may push the release back to ensure that all major concerns are addresses. As the saying goes, “A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad.” More details below.

Release Schedule

Beta PDF Release -  (January 29, 2024)

The Beta PDF will be released with one sample mission. We will send out a survey link through Kickstarter within a week after the release.

Official PDF Release -  (February 26, 2024)

The Official PDF will be released with additional sample missions, for a total of 4 missions. We will also address any errors and change that we can fix from the feedback. If necessary, we may have to push back the release date to get as close to perfect as possible.

Official PDF Digital Extras Release -  (Same as official PDF release)

The Digital Extras will be released on the same day as the PDF release.

Video Tutorials

The video tutorials will be released progressively after the official PDF is released. We will start releasing them around March 2024.

Physical Release

The physical release will still be scheduled for July 2024.

Ongoing Playtest

Just to remind everyone, you can organize playtests with our community members on our discord server. We have released all our 120 monsters & NPCs stats blocks for playtest. I will personally start running playtests again once we have released the Beta PDF.

CBA December Progress Update

Hello everyone! This is the monthly update for the month of December

Here is the list of the news I would like to share with you in dot points:

Progress Report

We’re happy to report that we’re currently progressing as expected. The lore manuscripts are being looked at by our editors. More arts are getting finalized and delivered. You can see how much effort our artists have put into their work below.

We have also released three new lifeforms for playtest:

• Korpocle - They are the amalgamated form of three watermelon sized creatures called pocles. They can separate into their three original pocles forms and act independently.
• Dragoncast - These Melus islanders are the descendants of a dragon that had once visited their island over a thousand years ago. They have power over water and their antler horns exude natural majesty.
• Armgeist - They are the souls of the dead that are mysteriously given a weapon form. To fulfil their final wish, they need to find a willing host to wield them.

Thirty new monster & NPC stat blocks have also been added, making up for a total of 60 playtestable monsters. Most of the new monsters are of the Fiend and Undead type. More monsters of other types will be released for playtest soon.

CBA November Progress Update

Hello everyone! This is the monthly update for the month of November

Here is the list of updates I would like to share with you in dot points:

Backerkit Survey (Shipping Address & Others)

We have received replies from 85% of the survey emails we had sent out through Backerkit. Thank you so much for taking the time to answer the survey!

However, 15% of survey emails emails have not been answered yet. If you didn’t see the survey, you then you should try checking your junkmail folder. You will also be reminded periodically to answer the survey, until mid November. If you still haven’t received the survey email yet, then please message me through kickstarter or my other social media accounts with your email address. I will then manually send you a reminder email.

This survey is sent to all backers, including those who have not ordered any physical products. So even if you have ordered anything physical, please take the time to complete the short survey.

Progress Report

On another note, here is a small showcase of the progress we’ve made regarding the arts that will be included in the book. We have completed more arts of the playable lifeforms and monsters you will be facing. Below are the completed images of a Prophetic Vetala and the Artificium lifeform.

We also have vehicles, luxury items you can splurge your hard-earned creds on. Vehicles have various practical purposes in-game and the Commander discipline can even use it in combat. These assets are still in development.

Ongoing Playtest

Meanwhile, we are still running our weekly weekend playtests on our discord server.

We will progressively release more monsters for playtest in the lead-up to the release of the digital version. We will have a total of 120 + stat blocks for various monsters & NPCs.

We have just sent out surveys to all our backers via Backerkit. You should be receiving the survey through your email address. If you haven't received in within 24 hours, please check your spam folder.
